Clara is 7 months old! We all think she is totally cute.
She has some delicious cheeks, dimple included. And the bluest eyes. Her eyelashes are still blonde - the lightest and shortest in our posse. Her hair is getting longer, in spots, so she sports a pretty good comb-over.
Her laugh makes us laugh. She's a happy girl, until dinner prep-time of course. We are trying to feed her baby food, but that just makes her blow raspberries. We have gone through many bowls of baby cereal and veggies and I'm not sure if any of them were ingested, or rather spat down her front. At least she enjoys it!
This month she had her first cold and had an impressive amount of snot, which ended up plastered to my clothes. She's better now, but she drools quite a bit. She also had her first bonk - right on her nose. You can see the last bit of her scrape.
She sits like a champ and can happily play with toys (if she doesn't see me sneak away). When she falls back, which happens more than she would like, it makes her livid. I'm pretty sure she can wave to people on purpose. Sitting, waving. We're pretty smart around here.
Clara might just be our first mama's girl, though she is passed around and held by everyone. It's interesting to see that she has her own personality - a little shy and a little cuddly and a smiley little thing. She's learning to use her lungs and join in the loud dinner-time hullabaloo with a surprisingly big and growly voice. She's such a sweet addition to our family!
Amelia is 2. She's got ideas. She's got opinions. She likes to make funny faces and then see how she looks in the camera. She is fun, full of kisses and spunk. She loved Santa at the ward party and went right up to him, nearly knocking over the rest of the kids in her hurry to get to him. Once it was
finally her turn, she got right on his lap, talked for a long time, got off his lap and continued talking to him until I caught her and led her away. She is not timid.
All the way to church today she said, "Rise and shout the cougars are out!" over and over. (Our indoctrination is working...)
Her hair is long. And seeing it makes me realize she's no longer a baby. No matter what, her hair only stays looking brushed for a minute. She usually looks like she spent some time in a sticky wind tunnel. In addition to being unable to keep her hair tidy, I also can't keep shoes or socks on this girl. Particularly in the car. That makes running errands extra fun!
You can tell she just knows she is part of whatever is going on. She loves a crowd. Loves counting, reading, seeing Christmas lights, clapping and dancing and being silly. She loves everything that is mine, especially anything I might be eating or drinking. Nothing befouls a perfectly nice glass of water like a 2-year-old. But she's a cute one!
**Sometime I'll think to take out the camera when the big kids are home from school and I'll do an update for them. They are pretty awesome and worth their own post!
